The Full Story
Lanivet & District Under Fives is a respected and valued education and childcare provision that has been in existence since the late 1960's.
Our pre-school provides essential support for all parents and a much needed foundation for statutory education. Our children at pre-school learn to socialise and receive important foundations in literacy, maths and other subjects. The viability of Lanivet pre-school has been secured with our purpose designed pre-school building, opened in September 2025.

Our pre-school has over the years, formed a robust link with Lanivet Primary School and this ensures every child who transitions to their Reception Class is prepared in advance. The school is fully briefed about each child's learning needs and personal requirements.

Every child has a designated key person at Lanivet and District Under Fives who regularly record a child's progress and when developmental milestones are met.
Lanivet and District Under Fives pre-school has an active, hard working committee who fundraise regularly throughout the year with events.

A message from our Chair
"I joined Lanivet and District Under Fives back in 2017 just before my own daughter was going to attend the pre-school. I had a thirst for knowledge as a first time mum and the ‘need to know more’ about the new journey we were just about to take at pre-school.
In 2018 after a years handover I then became the Chair of the charity, and in that year we were navigating a move from the old Parish Hall up to the Church Hall. It soon became apparent that the costs to heat and run the Church Hall throughout the majority of the year were too high for us. We fundraised whenever and wherever we could and that money covered our running costs.
But in 2022 we set out on a quest to find a new home within the village. Early in 2024 we were granted planning permission and in June 2024 we broke ground and began our build.
The building project was completed in August 2025 right on the deadline and in time for the staff and children to move into for the start of their new September autumn term.
We are enormously proud of our pre-school and thankful to all the wonderful people who support us. Lanivet and District Under Fives now has a purpose designed and newly built, energy efficient, accessible building for all."
